Here are some examples of carrier-specific solutions designed to take advantage of the new consumer directed health care options.  These firms specialize in health care plans.  Unlike the large, national carriers like Anthem or Aetna, they differentiate themselves with creative solutions designed to save you money.  If you are comfortable with a smaller company, these guys might be a good choice for you. 

1)  Combined HDHP, third party administration and saving account all in one benefits package. 

2)  Self-funded plans:  If you feel like you've paid more in health insurance premiums than you have received in claims, you might want to consider a self-funded plan.  In general, these plans are only recommended for companies with more than 10 employees.  It might sound too good to be true, but the only risk in these plans is that you might not get any of your premium refunded at the end of the year.
